Cancer is a household word at our place, but it doesn’t have the ability to paralyze us. My husband, Gary, has prostate cancer that has metastasized to the lymph nodes. They tell us there is no cure, but we are living strong. We've recruited a team to help us battle this disease (see 4-minute video preview of our Cancer Team below). We’ve made ourselves available to speak to groups of survivors, caregivers and the medical professionals about survivorship and thriving. We’re writing a book about real-life cancer heroes from across the country and we’ve created a couple of Web sites – Central Oregon Trails to encourage physical activity and For Your Health featuring our collection of nutritional recipes. Life is an adventure, but not always the one we expected. When losses and setbacks meet us along the road, we can choose self-pity and defeat … or we can venture forward with purpose. This is a no-brainer. Gary and I are making the journey with purpose. Video preview of Cancer Team presentation
